Understanding the language of hospitality design is essential for selecting materials that balance aesthetics with function. These terms define the nuances of wallcoverings, ensuring buyers make informed choices tailored to the demands of their spaces.
Weave Structure
- A term describing the interlacing method of warp and weft threads, which determines the fabric’s rigidity, drape, and durability. A tightly woven structure in a hotel corridor ensures resistance to abrasion from frequent use.
Loom Finish
- The surface sheen or matte quality achieved through post-weaving treatments, such as polishing or embossing. A satin loom finish on a guestroom wallcovering reflects light subtly, enhancing the room’s perceived brightness.
Dye Bath
- The process of immersing fibers in colored solution to achieve uniformity in hue. A deep dye bath on a restaurant wallcovering ensures consistent color across large panels, avoiding patchiness in high-traffic areas.
Resilience Grade
